Alexander P Sudarshan MD
Dr. Alexander Sudarshan has
practiced ophthalmology for over 20 years,
18 in the Rio Grande Valley. The proud
father of three, he has a special interest
in pediatric ophthalmology.
Dr. Sudarshan received his bachelor's degree
in mathematics with honors from Yale
University. He is an honors graduate of the
University of Texas medical school at
Houston and won the outstanding intern award
at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, Texas. He
trained under the internationally famous
ophthalmologist, Dr. Richard Lindstrom, at
the University of Minnesota, and The
Berkeley Eye Center of Houston and has
furthered his education with courses led by
national experts from New York and
California. |

| Dr. Sudarshan
is a board certified surgeon and
an associate examiner for the
American Board of Ophthalmology.
His hobbies include playing the
contrabass clarinet in the
McAllen Symphonic Band and
competitive fencing (sword
fighting). He is fluent in
English, Spanish, French and
Italian. |

James Su MD
Dr. James Su is a board
certified ophthalmologist specialized in the
area of retinal diseases.
Following graduation from University of
Texas Medical School at Houston, Dr Su
completed a preliminary general surgery
internship at Saint Joseph Hospital in
Houston. He was awarded the prestigious
Intern of the Year award for outstanding
performance during his surgical internship.
After completion of his internship, Dr. Su
attended The University of Maryland for his
ophthalmology training. He was honored with
the chief resident position during his time
at the University of Maryland for his
demonstration of exceptional leadership
skills and excellence in patient care. |

Following
successful completion of
residency, Dr. Su returned to
Houston for retina fellowship
training under the guidance of
his long time mentor Dr. Charles
Garcia and Dr. Maurice Landers.
Throughout residency and
fellowship training he was
engaged in diverse range of
pathology and had extensive
training in the management of
medical and surgical retinal
diseases.
Dr. Su has been in practice in
the Rio Grande Valley since 2006
with a special interest in
management of diabetes related
eye diseases and macular
degeneration. Dr. Su is an
experienced vitreoretinal
surgeon and strives to provide
the best possible care for the
residents of the Rio Grande
Valley. |

Cassandra Cavazos OD
Dr. Cassandra Cavazos is a Doctor of Optometry with Therapeutic and Glaucoma Specialist Certification.
She received her Doctorate in Optometry from the University of Houston, College of Optometry. During her clinical rotations, she studied under Dr. Andrew Cottingham, MD (the first surgeon to perform LASIK in San Antonio) and Dr. Richard Sharp, OD, both of whom are pioneers in their respective fields of ophthalmology and medical optometry. During her last year in the optometric program at the University of Houston, she received a letter of Clinical Excellence.

Dr Cavazos is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. She continues to further her knowledge in eye care by attending various courses throughout the year.
Her hobbies include performing in live theatre productions, swing dancing and baking. She has practiced in San Antonio for the past 13 years. Dr. Cavazos is a native of Brownsville, Texas and has returned to her roots. She is passionate about helping patients receive the best eye care possible through the latest technology available today. She looks forward to serving the community of the Rio Grande Valley.
